Welding Supplies

Like any other seasoned worker, a welder’s best friends are his welding tools! No welder worth his salt would try a welding job without the right kind of welding machines and welding supplies at his disposal.

Welding being a dangerous profession, it becomes all the more important for welders to have the right kind of welding equipment and supplies to ensure a well executed job. If you’re planning to set up your own welding business you must be aware of the welding supplies that no welder can do without. Here is a checklist of the must-have welding supplies for just this reason!

Let’s begin with welding supplies meant specifically for your safety while you are at your welding job. You should have a welding helmet that covers your full face and wear temperature resistant leather clothing and gloves at all times. You should also wear protective eyewear to save your eyes from exposure to heat and also the welding glares that might otherwise blind you temporarily.

You would now need the actually welding tools and supplies that you may require to do an excellent welding job. These welding supplies may include MIG welders and TIG welders, plasma cutting equipment, arc welding electrodes, and solid MIG wires, flux cored wires, and TIG, MIG and gas welding supplies and accessories.

Your welding supplies list should also include some hand tools that include but are not limited to pliers, wrenches, saws, socket sets, chipping hammers, tungsten, grinders and drills. You should also have access to other welding supplies like spare welding machine extension cords and cables, electrode holders, welding cart, welding hose, gouging torch, cylinder truck, ground clamp and welding screens.

If you are mulling over whether to buy new welding supplies or used welding supplies, we would recommend investing in buying new welding supplies because in the welding business performance and safety are two extremely critical issues. Used welding supplies might let you down when you need them the most.

Still, if you are low on cash, or just starting your welding business, buying used welding supplies might be a more sensible decision as it will be easier on your pocket! However, once you have made money on those initial welding jobs of yours and have made some savings, go ahead and buy new welding supplies to ensure that your welding business remains a success for years to come and you can enjoy the fruits of your labour!

  2. Supplies like tig welding rods, electrode holders and stick welding rods, are easy to find on eBay... and for a fraction of the cost that your local welding supply store will charge. You can seriously get hundreds of dollars worth of tig welding consumables for about 20 dollars...and its the exact same stuff
